Depression
Depression is a global problem, with an estimated 30% of the population in developed countries developing forms that require specialized treatment. Depression is directly connected to mental disorder.
Depression, characterized by sadness and despair, are generally accompanied by reduced physical activity. The most common types of depression are:
Common sadness - followed by periods of intense feelings, fatigue, sustained exertion. It is short-lived and has a tendency to self-limit, without requiring treatment.
Reactive depression - occurs as a result of events (loss of a loved one, job, divorce, illness, moving). This type of depression allows healing to occur over time.
Biological depressions - are often inherited. They don't seem to have a cause, they come and go, and they usually respond to treatment.
Psychotic depressions are those types of depression in which the suffering person loses contact with reality; they require professional care.
The measures that can be taken in the case of depressions that do not require psychiatric care are the following: exercise, which increase good mood, induce sleep, improve tone, promote health and delay aging. For many depressed people, a one-hour, fast-paced daily walk can work wonders.
Rest must be observed, giving sleep the necessary 7-8 hours.
Adopting a simple diet consisting of natural foods greatly reduces stress. Fresh fruit belts can help restore the body on all levels.
Psychologically, depressives need better organization, which will increase their efficiency and stability.
Because depressed people especially lack the feeling of fulfillment, of satisfaction, they must be involved in various activities and convinced that they have achieved something useful every day. Encourage depressed people to make a list of positive and interesting activities, then focus their efforts on one until they do it, then cut it off the list and start another.
Spiritual development can respond to fears, anxiety, feelings of guilt, giving meaning and value to existence.
