Everything you need to know about blemishes on the skin: from causes to different types up to the most effective remedies
On the skin of the face unsightly white, red or brown spots may appear, which can be more or less dark. Let's find out how we can distinguish the different types of spots and the most frequent causes of this widespread blemish among women (but also among men).
The sun is one of the most frequent causes. Find out how to lighten these annoying skin spots!

Prolonged sun exposure: solar rays effects

This type of stain is caused by excessive exposure to the sun. It is easily recognizable and its color ranges from dark yellow to light brown. Sunspots appear in the points of the body most exposed to the sun and therefore never in hidden areas. Melanin is our natural shield capable of protecting our skin from UV rays. But just prolonged exposure by altering its production can lead to hyperpigmentation!

Aging: when the fault lies with time

Skin aging is the leading cause of blemishes on the face and hands. Obviously, aging is inevitable because time cannot be stopped, but there are many factors that can accelerate it, including definitely smoking, exposure to wind and smog, and solar radiation. These factors, together with advancing age, cause an irregular production of the melanin pigment and consequently the appearance of age spots especially on the face and hands, and over time can worsen the situation. The age spot is easily recognizable and unfortunately very evident. It has a brown color, rounded shape, and is usually quite dark as it is caused by deep hyperpigmentation of the layers of the skin. Eliminating it is particularly demanding, but not impossible.

Why do dark spots appear on the face?

The brown spots on the skin of the face derive from an alteration of the melanocytes, the cells of our body that are responsible for producing the melanic pigment. The right dose of melanin allows our body to tan ... but when this balance is altered on our face, melanin is no longer distributed evenly. Beyond the triggering physical cause, when melanocytes produce an altered amount of pigment, patches appear which may be lighter or darker, depending on the case, but which still represent a big problem for the aesthetic aspect.

Is it the fault of hormones? Melasma and chloasma

Certainly, dark spots are among the most common signs of skin aging, but time is certainly not the only cause of this blemish. There are spots that only appear in certain periods such as pregnancy. This happens because hormones manage to change the production of the melanin pigment. Dark spots may appear when taking estrogen (yes, those of the birth control pill) or in menopause as well as, of course, in pregnancy. In the latter case, we speak of chloasma, or "gravitic mask". These are numerous spots, with a gray or brown color which, unlike the age spots and the sunspots, disappear spontaneously after childbirth.

Genetic and hereditary factors: the spots that tell our story

The freckles and freckles are due exclusively to genetic and hereditary factors. They are not a disease and certainly do not cause any disturbance. Many people, however, consider them a skin imperfection and do everything to eliminate them. For many others, however, freckles and ephelides are a unique and distinctive trait, to be loved and valued always.

From pathologies to stains

Even some pathologies can cause red or brown spots on the skin: dysfunction of the adrenal glands, anemia, and acne. Other pathologies such as vitiligopityriasis alba, and pityriasis versicolor cause white spots on the skin.

Contact irritations and stains

Then there are some types of spots called spots from irritations that are generated by taking certain types of drugs or by contact with irritants, perfumes or cosmetics.

The best natural anti-stain remedies

In nature, there are substances with DE pigmenting power that are used in cosmetics for their properties. Among these products we find, for example, licorice, which manages to block the exaggerated production of melanin, green tea, and chamomile. Even the ' bearberry can inhibit melanocytes: its extract is in fact much used by cosmetic companies!

Cosmetics with lightening and DE pigmenting action

On the market, there are really many cosmetic treatments that can mitigate the spots that
may appear on the skin of the face. These are products that promote cell renewal and lighten dark spots. Many of these contain acids (kojic or
glycolic for example) as functional ingredients.

The single-dose ampoule format is perfect for preserving its properties. Just one application, to be included in your evening skincare, to see radiant and smooth skin.

After 7 applications, the skin will appear renewed, brighter, smooth wrinkles, and darkened light spots. We also recommend that you complete the routine by applying Laser X3 cream with SPF20 the following morning, since glycolic acid may make your skin more sensitive to the sun. A bit of constancy and the results will not belong incoming!

When cosmetics are not enough

If the cosmetics are not enough to eliminate facial skin blemishes, a series of particularly effective dermo-aesthetic treatments will help you as they remove the superficial layers of the skin more or less in-depth, in order to completely eliminate the altered skin areas. There are different types; clearly you will have to evaluate together with your dermatologist the most suitable cure for your case.
·         Laser treatments
·         Microdermabrasion
·         Dermabrasion
·         Diathermocoagulation
·         Chemical peels
If you are thinking of undergoing one of these treatments, we remind you that they must be carried out only by doctors specialized in this field and not by improvised structures or beauty centers.

The importance of prevention

Working on stains is important but even more, it is to prevent new ones from appearing thanks to preventive strategies. A good habit is to always use (and not only in the summer!) Cosmetics with high UV protection. Never forget sunscreen radiation is present every day of the year!
